SIMPLE SENTENCE


CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Dalam sebuah kalimat memiliki banyak susunan kata yang membentuk suatu kalimat yang sempura. Dimana dalam makalah ini ada empat jenis susunan kalimat seperti Simple Sentence, Compound Sentence, Complex Sentence, dan Compound-Complex Sentence or Double Sentence.
Unit independen terbesar dari tata bahasa: dimulai dengan huruf besar dan diakhiri dengan titik, tanda tanya, atau tanda seru. Kata sifat: sentensial.
Kalimat itu secara tradisional (dan tidak cukup) didefinisikan sebagai suatu kata atau kelompok kata yang mengekspresikan ide yang lengkap dan itu termasuk subjek dan kata kerja.


CHAPTER II
CONTENTS

A.    Defenite
Sentence adalah sekelompok kata yang mengungkapkan pemikiran utuh dan arti yang dapat dipahami secara umum (jelas). (Sentence is a group of word laying open intact idea and meaning able to comprehend in general is ( clear).)[1]

B.     Simple Sentence
A simple sentence, also called an independent clause, contains a subject and a verb, and it expresses a complete thought. (Sebuah kalimat sederhana, juga disebut klausa independen, berisi subjek dan kata kerja, dan mengekspresikan pemikiran yang lengkap.)[2]
Example:
a.       Some students like to study in the mornings.
b.      Juan and Arturo play football every afternoon.
c.       Alicia goes to the library and studies every day.
C.    Compound Sentence
A compound sentence contains two independent clauses joined by a coordinator. The coordinators are as follows: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so. (Helpful hint: The first letter of each of the coordinators spells FANBOYS.) Except for very short sentences, coordinators are always preceded by a comma. (Sebuah kalimat majemuk berisi dua klausa independen bergabung dengan koordinator. Para koordinator adalah sebagai berikut: untuk, dan, atau, tetapi, atau, belum, jadi. (Petunjuk Penting:. Huruf pertama dari masing-masing koordinator rumus fanboys) Kecuali untuk kalimat yang sangat singkat, koordinator selalu didahului oleh tanda koma.)[3]
Example:
a.       I tried to speak Spanish, and my friend tried to speak English.
b.      Alejandro played football, so maria went shopping.
c.       Alejandro played football, so maria went shopping.
The above three sentences are compound sentences.  Each sentence contains two independent clauses, and they are joined by a coordinator with a comma preceding it. (Tiga kalimat di atas adalah kalimat majemuk. Setiap kalimat mengandung dua klausa independen, dan mereka bergabung dengan koordinator dengan koma mendahuluinya.)

D.    Complex Sentence
A complex sentence has an independent clause joined by one or more dependent clauses. A complex sentence always has a subordinator such as because, since, after, although, or when or a relative pronoun such as that, who, or which. (Sebuah kalimat kompleks memiliki klausa independen bergabung dengan satu atau lebih klausa dependen. Sebuah kalimat kompleks selalu memiliki subordinator seperti karena, sejak, setelah, meskipun, atau kapan atau kata ganti relatif seperti itu, yang, atau yang.)[4]
Example:
a.       When he handed in his homework, he forgot to give the teacher the last page. 
b.      The Teacher returned the homework after she noticed the error. 
c.       The students are studying because they have a test tomorrow.
d.      After they finished studying, Juan and Maria went to the movies. 
e.       Juan and Maria went to the movies after they finished studying.

E.     Compound Complex Sentence
A sentence which consists of two or more main clauses and at least one subordinate clause is called. (Suatu kalimat terdiri dari dua atau lebih induk kalimat dan sedikitnya satu anak kalimat bawahan disebut subordinat.)[5]
Example:
a.       while the chief guest went on his speech, the audience laughed at him and threw stones at him.
b.      I knew that Madhavi had loved me but I did not have any idea whether she was interested in marriage.
c.       My friend believes that he can do anything if he has a lot of money, but I cannot agree with him.


CHAPTER  III
CONCLUSION

Sentence is a group of word laying open intact idea and meaning able to comprehend in general is ( clear). It may be pointed out here that sentence can be divided into four classes from structural point of view, thay are:
a.       Simple Sentence
b.      Compound Sentence
c.       Complex Sentence
d.      Compound-Complex or Double Sentence
